Power and Politics in Sustainability Education

  • Green Templeton College 43 Woodstock Road Oxford, England, OX2 6HG United Kingdom (map)

As part of the 2025 annual flagship Green Templeton Lectures series, convened by James Robson and Mark Hirons, I will be exploring the future of sustainability education, in discussion with Prof Chris Skidmore.

There is growing awareness of the importance of addressing the interwoven crises of climate change, inequality and biodiversity loss. Education, as always, is seen as a critical component in addressing these challenges. These lectures will explore the topic of sustainability education with speakers reflecting, in dialogue, on three critical and central issues.

Engaging with questions of fairness and flourishing, which are at the heart of sustainability crises, inevitably means engaging with questions of power and politics.
